Concrete Installation
Concrete Done Right.
Built to Last.
Residential driveways, patios, sidewalks, and concrete pads across the Twin Cities metro. Proper sub-base, professional finish, built to handle Minnesota winters.
Concrete That Performs
Concrete is one of the most durable and cost-effective surface materials available when it is installed correctly. Sub-base preparation, proper mix design, adequate reinforcement, correct finishing technique, and appropriate curing all determine whether a concrete installation lasts decades or starts cracking within a few winters. At Ristau Property Maintenance, we bring the same standards to concrete work that we apply across all our services: do it right or do not do it.
We install concrete driveways, patios, sidewalks, and utility pads for residential clients throughout the Twin Cities metro. We handle the full scope: demolition and removal of existing concrete, excavation, sub-base installation, forming, pour, finish, and sealing.
Concrete Driveways
Driveway replacement is one of the highest-impact improvements a residential property can make. A properly installed concrete driveway adds curb appeal, increases property value, and provides a durable surface that handles vehicle traffic, snow plowing, and de-icing through Minnesota winters. We excavate to adequate depth, install compacted aggregate base, form and pour with appropriate thickness and reinforcement for the application, and finish to the specified texture.
Concrete Patios
Concrete patios offer a clean, low-maintenance outdoor surface at a competitive price point compared to pavers. We install concrete patios with broom finish for a classic utilitarian appearance, or with exposed aggregate and stamped concrete options for clients who want more visual interest. Proper slope away from the structure for drainage is standard on every patio we pour.
Sidewalks
Sidewalk installation and replacement requires proper cross-slope for drainage and accessibility, and correct curb transition details where applicable. We install sidewalks that perform reliably through Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles, with the same professional sub-base preparation and finish we bring to every concrete project.
Concrete Pads
Equipment pads, HVAC unit pads, and utility slabs all require properly designed and poured concrete to support the intended loads and resist settling. Getting these utility surfaces right the first time prevents cracking, settling, and costly repairs down the road. We size and spec pads appropriately for the load and site conditions.
Concrete Questions
Do you pour concrete for driveways?
Yes. Driveway replacement and new driveway installation are among the most common concrete projects we handle. We excavate the existing surface, prepare the sub-base, install forms, pour and finish the concrete, and apply curing and sealing as appropriate. Driveway thickness and reinforcement are specified based on vehicle loads and site conditions.
What concrete finishes do you offer?
We offer broom finish, exposed aggregate, and stamped concrete depending on the application and client preference. Broom finish is the standard for driveways and utilitarian surfaces. Exposed aggregate and stamped concrete are popular for patios, walkways, and decorative applications where appearance is a priority.
Can you pour a concrete patio?
Yes. Concrete patios are a cost-effective option for large outdoor surfaces where a uniform, low-maintenance finish is preferred over pavers. We handle the full installation: excavation, sub-base preparation, form work, pour, finish, and sealing.
Do you install concrete sidewalks?
Yes. Sidewalk installation and replacement is part of our concrete work. We handle proper cross-slope for drainage and accessibility, and curb transition details where applicable. We install sidewalks that perform reliably through Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles.
How long before a new concrete slab can be used?
Foot traffic is generally safe after 24 to 48 hours. Vehicle traffic should wait 7 days minimum, and full cure takes 28 days. We provide specific guidance for your project based on the mix, finish, and weather conditions during the pour.
Do you handle concrete removal and disposal?
Yes. Demo and haul-away of existing concrete is included as part of replacement projects. We break out the existing slab, remove and dispose of the debris, and prepare the site for the new pour.
